Oil climbs over 1% in Asian trade after drop in Russia exports, Red Sea jitters


SINGAPORE, Dec 18 (Reuters): Oil prices rose over 1% in Asian trade on Monday, supported by lower exports from Russia and as attacks by the Houthis on ships in the Red Sea raised concerns of oil supply disruption.

Brent crude futures was last up 63 cents, or 0.8%, to US$77.18 a barrel by 0730 GMT, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was at US$72.04 a barrel, up 61 cents, or 0.9%.
