Japan starts third Fukushima water release

TOKYO (AFP): Japan on Thursday (Nov 2) began releasing a third batch of treated wastewater from the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant, a process that has seen China and Russia ban seafood from the country in response.

Tokyo Electric Power (Tepco) said it started releasing 7,800 tonnes of water that had been used to cool reactors that went into meltdown after a 2011 deadly tsunami.
