HK, Thai police arrest four in joint operation after officers uncover drug syndicate smuggling heroin inside plaster lion statues


Police in Hong Kong and Thailand have arrested four city residents in a cross-border anti-narcotics operation, with officers seizing more than 12kg (26lbs) of suspected heroin and cocaine worth HK$12 million (US$1.5 million).

Hong Kong police revealed details of the operation on Wednesday, saying the four suspects – two men and two women – were arrested the previous day.
