Over 69% of employment in Brunei's private sector


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/Asia News Network): The number of employed people in the private sector increased by 0.7 per cent from 68.5 per cent in 2021 to 69.2 per cent in 2022, according to the Labour Force Survey (LFS) Report 2022, conducted by the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES), Ministry of Finance and Economy (MoFE).

More than half are local workers with the majority service and sales workers, followed by professionals, technicians and associate professionals.
