THOUSANDS of people were evacuated as continuous heavy rain and swollen rivers caused flooding in several townships in southern Myanmar.
In Mon State’s Belin township, 6,298 people had been evacuated to 25 shelters, Aung Myat Kyaw Sein, a spokesperson of the Mon State government, said on Saturday.
