Thailand issues flash flood alert as heavy rains continue to pound the north and northeast provinces

BANGKOK (The Nation Thailand/ANN): The Thailand Meteorological Department has issued a flash flood alert around the country as risk of flooding and landslides could happen at anytime, it said in a statement.

The statement also said heavy rainfall will continue in the North and Northeast and the risk of flash floods remains, while thunderstorms are expected to hit about 40% of Bangkok and its vicinity on Sunday and Monday (Aug 7).
