Fireworks tragedy in Thailand: Welding sparks may have caused deadly blast in Narathiwat

NARATHIWAT, July 30 (Bernama): A massive explosion that occurred at a warehouse for fireworks and pyrotechnics in southern Thailand's Narathiwat province on Saturday which killed at least 10 people and injured 117 others.

The explosion, believed to have been caused by welding sparks, took place at 3:30 pm (local time) in Mundok, Sungai Kolok and destroyed more than 200 homes and shops, as well as 15 vehicles.
