Vietnam’s Zing News halts operation after govt inspection

HANOI (Bloomberg): Vietnam news website Zing News said it will suspend publication for three months from July 14 following a government inspection.

Zing News, indirectly owned by tech company VNG Corp, in a statement said it will "focus on overcoming and thoroughly correcting shortcomings” in implementing a press master plan adopted by the prime minister in 2019.

It will also ensure compliance to the directives of the Information and Communications Ministry and the Vietnam Publishing Association, the news website said.
