Eight people have been jailed for up to five years for rioting near a police station in a busy shopping district in Hong Kong during the anti-government protests in the city three years ago.
A judge on Monday handed down the sentences to the six men and two women at West Kowloon Court, after declaring them guilty last month of a total of 15 charges for their roles in the intense clashes between protesters and officers near Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station on October 1, 2019.
