Brunei museums to charge entrance fees for foreigners


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Dec 12 (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): The Museums Department has announced the introduction of entrance fees for Royal Regalia Museum, Malay Technology Museum and Brunei Darussalam Maritime Museum.

The department said entrance fees will be chargeable to non-locals only and admission to museums remains free for Brunei Darussalam citizens.

The fees for the Royal Regalia Museum are BND5 for adults and BND2 for children aged seven to 11 while the rates for Malay Technology Museum and Brunei Darussalam Maritime Museum are BND3 for adults and BND1 for children aged seven to 11.

Entrance fees will be exempted for certain foreign visitors – government delegations on official visits; foreign students studying in Brunei Darussalam; and foreign workers holding Brunei Darussalam Green Smart Identity Card (IC).

Proof of identity should be shown to museum staff prior to entry.

Foreign visitors to museums in large group should purchase tickets prior to arrival. The entrance fees come into effect as of Sunday (Dec 11). Borneo Bulletin/ANN
