Community fridge in Tampines offers free groceries for low-income families

SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): Grassroots leader Abdullah Abdul Rahman wants people who come to pick up food from a community fridge in Tampines Changkat to feel like they are shopping in a supermarket.

"I arrange the items we get just like how you would see it in a supermarket fridge. Even if they are getting it for free, I want the people who come... to feel like they are shopping, I want them to feel happy," said the 37-year-old.
