YANGON, May 10 (Eleven Media Group/ANN): A total of ten ethnic armed groups had accepted the invitation to attend the peace talks initiated by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC), said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson for the junta.
"LDU informed us to attend the peace talk last night and now there are ten ethnic armed groups to attend the peace talk," said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
The NCA-S EAOs registered to attend the peace talks invited by the Chairman of the State Administration Council, are Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army (RCSS/SSA), Arakan Liberation Party (ALP), New Mon State Party (NMSP), Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA), the KNU/KNLA Peace Council, Pa-Oh National Liberation Organization (PNLO) and the Lahu Democratic Union (LDU), according to Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
In addition, the United Wa State Army (UWSA), National Democratic Alliance Army (NDAA-Mongla) and Shan State Progressive Party (SSPP), which have not yet signed the NCA, will attend the peace talk, said Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
The Karen National Union (KNU) said in a statement on May 9 that it would not be able to attend the peace talks invited by the chairman of the State Administration Council, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing as it is not a peace talk participated by all stakeholders.
In addition, the Chin National Front (CNF) and The All Burma Students Democratic Front (ABSDF), which have signed the NCA, have also stated that they will not attend the peace talk invited by the chairman of the State Administration Council, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
The Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) and the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP), which have not yet signed the NCA, have stated that they will not attend the peace talk invited by the chairman of the State Administration Council and the three northern alliances: AA, TNLA and MNDAA said they are monitoring the peace talk. - Eleven Media Group/ANN
