BANGKOK, May 2 (The Straits Times/ANN): Thirty candidates ranging from a firebrand politician to a former office-holder dubbed the "world's strongest minister" are in the race to be Bangkok's next governor.

Residents of the Thai capital will head to the polls on May 22 to choose a new governor for the first time in nine years.
