Covid-19: Omicron BA.2 sub-variant now most dominant variant in Thailand

BANGKOK, March 12 (Bernama): The Omicron BA.2 sub-variant is currently the dominant circulating Covid-19 variant in Thailand, accounting for about 52 per cent of the infections.

Director of the News Division of the Department of Information, Foreign Ministry, Maratee Nalita Andamo said the BA.2 sub-variant appears to be more transmissible than the more common BA.1 sub-variant and it has replaced the BA.1 as the dominant sub-variant in the kingdom.
