Laos targets US$1.55bil in trade surplus in 2022


Rubber is among Laos' main exports.

VIENTIANE (Xinhua): The Lao government is aiming for a trade surplus of at least US$1.55bil in 2022, despite the country's economic difficulties triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The value of exports is projected to reach US$7.6 billion while the value of imports is forecast at $6.05 billion, according to a recent report from the Prime Minister's Office, quoted by the Vientiane Times on Thursday.
