13 endangered snake-necked turtles repatriated


Thirteen critically endangered Roti Island snake-necked turtles (pic) were repatriated from Singapore back to their native country, Indonesia, last September.

The turtles – experts believe they may be extinct in the wild – were initially sent to the Singapore Zoo in 2015 from breeding programmes in the United States and Austria.
