BANGKOK, Jan 8 (Bloomberg): Thailand’s Covid daily infections increased for a fifth straight day to their highest level since Oct. 31 with 8,263 new cases reported on Saturday.

Daily cases have jumped in the last week after falling to a six-month low before Christmas, and the nation’s main Covid task force on Friday raised the alert level by a notch to the second highest and approved restrictions on alcohol consumption, requested people to work from home and avoid inter-provincial travel until the end of January.
