Xi, Thongloun jointly witness opening of China-Laos railway


BEIJING/VIENTIANE (Xinhua): Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chinese president, and Thongloun Sisoulith, general secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and Lao president, jointly witnessed the opening of the China-Laos railway via video link on Friday (Dec 3).

The first train of the China-Laos Railway left Vientiane on Friday afternoon soon after the cross-border railway is officially put into operation.
