SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): At around 6.15am on Sept 12, Dr Chow Yuen Ho, 48, was on his weekly morning bike ride along Upper Thompson Road with his friends when he heard someone shouting.

His first thought was that it was another angry motorist yelling at him for being on the road.
