Singapore reports 20 new Covid-19 cases and only six in the community

SINGAPORE, June 6 (Xinhua): Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 20 new confirmed cases of Covid19 on Sunday, including six locally transmitted and 14 imported, bringing the total tally to 62,196.

Of the six locally transmitted Covid-19 infections, five are linked to previous cases, all of whom have already been placed under quarantine. The remaining one case is currently unlinked.

The 14 imported cases have been placed on stay-home notice on arrival in Singapore, of which 12 are Singapore citizens or permanent residents.

On Sunday, 22 more recovered patients were discharged from hospitals and community isolation facilities, bringing the total number of recoveries from the coronavirus epidemic to 61,635 in the South-East Asian country.

There are currently 207 Covid-19 patients being treated in hospitals. Of them, two are in critical condition and held in the intensive care unit.

Meanwhile, 321 people who have mild symptoms or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid19 are being isolated and cared for at community facilities.
