Brunei sets ceiling prices for essential food during Ramadan set to begin on April 14


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, April 4 (Xinhua): Brunei government sets maximum prices on five categories of daily food necessities starting from the first day of Ramadan, Muslim's holy fasting month, for eight weeks instead of five weeks as in previous years.

According to the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (DEPS) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy on Sunday, the initiative aims to maintain the affordability of selected high-consumption essential food items, especially those used in food preparation during Ramadan expected to begin on April 14.
