PHNOM PENH, March 29 (Phnom Penh Post/ANN): Prime Minister Hun Sen has instructed all provincial authorities to get ready for a large-scale vaccination campaign, with at least one million doses to be administered per month.

“We will roll out at least one million doses. The vaccines we have purchased and received as donations will come one after another. We are set to inoculate our people,” he said in an audio message on the morning of March 29.

The prime minister also told provincial authorities to prepare accommodations for medical specialists at the national level who will go down to administer the vaccinations. The government, he noted, will cover expense on food and travel.

He advised the authorities to work with hotel and guesthouse owners to offer accommodation at no cost as a "humanitarian gesture".

The Kingdom has purchased 1.5 million doses of the Sinovac vaccines from China, which has also donated 1 million doses of the Sinopharm jabs to Cambodia.

Early this month, 324,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccines, marketed as Covishield, arrived in Phnom Penh through the World Health Organisation’s Covax initiative. - Phnom Penh Post/ANN
