Brunei prices increase 1.5 per cent in September this year


BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Xinhua): Brunei’s overall Consumer Price Index (CPI) in September 2020 increased by 1.5 per cent year-on-year, the latest statistical figures released on Monday (Dec 7) by the country’s Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (DEPS) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy has shown.

According to DEPS, the rise was contributed mainly by increases in the prices and costs of Miscellaneous Goods and Services (10.5 per cent), Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (2.2 per cent) and Transport (0.9 pe rcent).
