Brunei makes call to tackle unhealthy food issue in country

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sept 29 (Borneo Bulletin/ANN): With the risk factors for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Brunei Darussalam still at alarming levels, several recommendations have been proposed to address the issues of unhealthy food.

The recommendations include mandatory food labelling and healthy food logos, a tax on unhealthy food and drink, policies and guidelines in the preparation of canteen food and catering, and the control of unhealthy food and drink marketing to children.
