Myanmar manufacturing sector attracts over US$245mil in FDI in FY2025-2026


YANGON: Myanmar's manufacturing sector attracted over US$245 million in foreign direct investment in the fiscal year 2025-2026 (April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026), the state-owned daily The Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Tuesday (April 28).

The report, citing the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration, said that this marks a notable rise compared to $182.6 million recorded in the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

China, European Union member countries, Japan, South Korea and the United States place garment orders with Myanmar, it said, adding that Myanmar's garment sector plays a pivotal role in the country's economic development. - Xinhua
