Myanmar brings in US$300mil from rice exports in April-August

YANGON (Xinhua): Myanmar earned an estimate US$302 million from its exportation of 889,991 metric tonnes of rice and broken rice to foreign trade partners within the first five months of this financial year 2022-2023, the state-run the Global New Light of Myanmar reported on Wednesday (Sept 7).

The media quoted the Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) as saying that over 731,590 metric tonnes of rice were shipped to external markets via sea routes by approximately 44 exporter companies, whereas over 158,400 metric tones were delivered to neighbouring countries through border posts.
