JAKARTA (AFP): A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Timor Leste on Friday (May 27), the US Geological Survey said.

A tsunami advisory group said the earthquake "may be capable of generating a tsunami affecting the Indian Ocean region".
