SHAH ALAM: Selangor Mentri Besar Azmin Ali has been urged to clarify the status of the plan to take over Syarikat Pengeluaran Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (SPLASH), which has yet to be finalised.

Barisan Nasional assemblyman Datuk Sulaiman Abdul Razak said the state government was seen to be taking a long time to take over the equity of SPLASH as part of the process of restructuring the water industry in the state.

"In fact, the discussion period for the takeover has also been extended until September and SPLASH has been given a one-year clean water operation licence," he told reporters at the lobby of the State Assembly, here, Thursday.

In February, the State Government issued a one-year clean water operation licence to SPLASH which was seen as being at odds with efforts to make the people of Selangor bona fide owners of the water industry when the restructuring is finalised. – Bernama
