Kampung Boy Award boost for cartoon industry


SUBANG JAYA: The Kampung Boy, the extremely popular series that portray the colourful lives and unique blend of Malaysian multi-racial society through the eyes and sketches of Lat, takes on a new dimension in the country’s cartoon industry with an Oscar-type Award named after the lovable character.

Lat, whose real name is Mohammad Nor Khalid, gave his famous grin when he launched the trophy at an illustrious gathering of more than 100 of the country’s well-known and upcoming cartoonists, animators, comic illustrators, comic artists and caricaturists here.
