PETALING JAYA: A closed door meeting of the Select Committee of Competency, Accountability and Transparency (Selcat) earlier this week heard that water from former mining ponds is polluted with heavy metals, and should not be pumped into the Selangor river to be treated.
Klang MP Charles Santiago said he had informed Selcat on Tuesday that the water in former mining ponds in Bestari Jaya had not been treated.
