PETALING JAYA: It was a traumatic taxi ride home for a 20-year-old woman who was forced to place her hand on the driver’s private part throughout the ride.
The call centre employee had boarded the taxi after shopping for groceries near Jalan Metro Prima in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, at around 7pm on Jan 28.
She sat next to the driver, who then started to make explicit and sexual comments about the passenger.
The driver, believed to be in his 70s, allegedly rubbed her thigh and placed a knife on the dashboard as he spouted vulgar words at the scared woman.
He then allegedly clutched her hand and placed it in his groin region.
Disgusted and sickened by his action, she tried to pull away but he quickly grabbed the knife and threatened to hurt her if she did not do as he demanded.
The nightmarish episode ended when they reached the woman’s house.
He warned her to keep mum about the incident as she scrambled out of the taxi.
He did not charge her for the ride.
Acting city CID chief Asst Comm Khairi Ahrasa confirmed that police had received a report, saying the case was being investigated.
