Malaysia Airlines Q1 net loss widens to RM443m (Update)


KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS) reported net loss of RM443.39mil in the first quarter ended March 31, 2014 from RM278.82mil a year ago due to pressure on yields, under-performing non-core activities and negative sentiment.

The national carrier said on Thursday, its revenue rose to RM3.600bil from RM3.537bil. Its loss per share was 2.65 sen compared with 3.93 sen a year ago. Net asset per share was 21 sen.
