850 personnel deployed statewide for Gawai festive season


KUCHING: Sarawak police will deploy 850 personnel statewide to monitor accident-prone areas and crime hotspots during Ops Selamat in conjunction with the coming Gawai celebration.

The 15-day operations, until June 8, will see personnel adopting a “total enforcement” approach to ensure roadusers abide with traffic laws especially in areas that are accident-prone.
