Heartfelt messages: Tributes from numerous airlines that are posted on the ‘A Fly Guy’s Cabin Crew Lounge’ Facebook page.
PETALING JAYA: Airline fraternities from around the world were united in demanding justice for Flight MH17 which was shot down in Ukraine, killing all 298 on board.
They have expressed their frustration, concerns and condolences on the “A Fly Guy’s Cabin Crew Lounge” Facebook page.
The Iberia Airlines team from Spain slammed the “demons” responsible for the tragedy.
Their sympathy was expressed in an
e-poster, which was among 151 “letters of love to Malaysia Airlines” from airline fraternities worldwide that were posted on the Facebook page.
“MH 017... You are lost forever in the horizon where only angels live. Not the evils and demons of this earth who don’t think twice before killing innocent people...
“The Iberia team shares your sorrow. We fly with you, we cry for you...” the tribute read.
Gol Airlines Brazil posted: “Justice for MH 17. Keep flying #MH17.”
The Facebook page was set up two years ago as a platform for flight attendants from around the world to share stories and photographs.
Air Berlin’s tribute read: “RIP MH17 – we will never forget you.”
“We lost friends, families and colleagues. But forever in our hearts,” said Transavia from the Netherlands.
Transavia France posted: “Avec vous, toujours (with you, always).”
Another e-card read: “American crews are praying with you during these hard times. Pray for MH17.”
Virgin Airline posted: “So long as we fly where angels tread, we need have no fear of the road ahead. In our hearts forever #MH17.”
Afghanistan’s Safi Airways wrote: “We support you Malaysia.”
“May the clouds soften your pain. Let the sun brighten your dark days and the wind shall blow all your sorrow away,” wrote the Singapore Airlines team.
Fly Guy’s Facebook page has reportedly received 17 million views since the MH17 crash.
Fly Guy said a Jetlagged comic bearing the message “You Mess With One of Us, You Mess with All of Us” said it all.
On the Facebook page, Malaysia Airlines cabin crew were described as among the most friendly and gracious in the sky.
“They always return a passing smile with a hospitable and sincere response that lets you know they care,” said Fly Guy.
“There aren’t many crew like that in our skies these days, which is why I can honestly say those MH crew we have lost this year are missed dearly. Our blue skies grew a bit darker today.”
