Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced a new lineup of PlayStation 5 DualSense controllers and console covers.
In the announcement, Leo Cardoso from the company's Color, Material, and Finish design team says the Prism Collection's look is a throwback to retro gaming.
"We know how much our fans have been looking forward to the return of transparent controllers. We wanted to bring back the iconic see-through trend of the late ’90s in a fresh, modern way that complements the PS5’s industrial design," he says.
The Prism Collection includes three controller designs and three cover plates, available in Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray colour options.
The controller housings are largely see-through, except for the lower section where the joysticks are positioned. This allows gamers to see inner components that would normally be hidden.
Meanwhile, the console covers are split into two sections, with the lower part being an opaque solid colour while the upper part is transparent, providing a view of the console's cooling fan.
The DualSense controllers have a recommended retail price of RM419, while the console cover plates are priced at RM369.
The Prism Collection will launch globally next year on Feb 4, though Sony says retailer availability may vary by region.
