Eternal Ltd, India’s food and quick delivery pioneer, is making its first foray into artificial intelligence (AI) with a privacy-focused assistant that will allow users to discuss sensitive ideas confidentially.
The company’s dark.ai platform uses publicly available AI models running on its own infrastructure and encrypts conversations so that even its developers can’t read them, it said in a public letter to shareholders. The platform will also have a memory feature that carries information across conversations, which users can control, it said.
Eternal seeks to address growing privacy concerns around the use of AI tools and the potential risk of private information leaking. The platform is aimed at business founders, researchers, scientists and companies that want to use AI to explore ideas or work on sensitive information.
"Every chat with a mainstream assistant carries a small asterisk in your head: someone, someday, somewhere, can read this,” Eternal founder and Vice Chairman Deepinder Goyal said in the letter. "That asterisk is what we set out to delete with dark.ai.”
Eternal is targeting to launch dark.ai this year. The venture marks the company’s expansion into the increasingly competitive AI market and beyond its established food delivery business, Zomato and Blinkit, its rapid delivery unit that competes with Amazon.com Inc and local rivals. – Bloomberg
