PETALING JAYA: Putrajaya's new autonomous electric bus service has begun operations today (Oct 7), starting and ending at MRT Putrajaya Sentral, with multiple stops on route P113.

The stops consist of the Finance Ministry, the Palace of Justice (where the Federal Court is located), the Youth and Sports Ministry, Dataran Gemilang, and the Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) Complex.

The one-way fare for the autonomous bus is RM1. Something to note is that the autonomous bus service will only accept cashless payments via Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card.

According to the schedule posted on the PPj Facebook page, the service will make five trips each in the morning and afternoon.

Departure times for the morning are 7.15am, 8.15am, 9.15am, and 10.15pm, while the afternoon timings are 2.45pm, 3.45pm, 4.45pm, and 5.45pm.

The autonomous electric bus for the service is provided by Malaysian startup eMooVit Technology and operated by Handal Indah.

eMooVit previously conducted pilot tests for its autonomous buses in Putrajaya in 2024, with each bus equipped with sensors enabling self-driving, including Lidar (Light Detection and Ranging), radar, and cameras that provide full 360° coverage for the vehicle.
