Huawei has finally launched its new MatePad Air tablet in Malaysia after a global unveiling last month.

The main highlight of the MatePad Air is its 12in OLED display, which has a 2800x1840 resolution and is capable of up to a 1200nit peak brightness.

On the back of the tablet sits a single 50-megapixel camera, while the screen side has a 12-megapixel selfie camera.

Powering the MatePad Air is a Kirin T93C processor, along with a 10,100mAh battery capable of up to 66W fast charging.

The tablet also comes with productivity tools, including an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered Huawei Notes app that can perform speech-to-text, as well as neatening up and organising handwritten notes to be more readable.

It can further be paired with accessories, such as the Huawei M-Pencil Pro for drawing, along with a keyboard and mouse for a more PC-like experience.

The MatePad Air comes in a single storage configuration with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, priced at RM3,999. It has three colour options: Sakura Pink, Airy Blue, and White.

Huawei is also offering a launch promo, with buyers eligible for freebies worth up to RM4,503, including a RM500 early bird rebate voucher, M-Pencil Pro (worth RM599), Smart Magnetic Keyboard (worth RM799), and Wireless Mouse (worth RM149), among others.

The company has not indicated when the promo will end.
