Oppo Reno16 smartphone series lands in Malaysia, priced from RM1,999

Oppo has unveiled its latest Reno16 series with the Reno16 Pro, Reno16 and Reno16 F.

All models feature a 3D Pop Planet design, showcasing a nebula-inspired pattern embedded into the back of the device that appears to float beneath the surface.

The design is available for the Pop White and Dream Purple colours.

All three models sport a 50-megapixel ultra-wide selfie camera with a 100° field of view to help fit in more people for group selfies. The company also introduced a new Pop Cam feature allowing users to shoot with vintage-inspired filters in the Camera app.

Both the Reno16 Pro and Reno16 feature a 6.32in Amoled display, while the Reno16 F has a 6.57in Amoled display.

The Reno16 Pro is equipped with a 200-megapixel wide camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera. Under the hood, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super platform, which promises smooth and responsive performance.

As for the Reno16, it comes with a 50-megapixel wide angle camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera, running on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 mobile platform.

Finally, the Reno16 F comes with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera, a 50-megapixel wide-angle camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera while being powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 platform.

Both the Reno16 Pro and Reno16 are equipped with a 6,700mAh battery capacity, while the Reno16 F comes with a 7,000mAh battery capacity.

In terms of connectivity, all models support 5G networks.

The company also unveiled the Oppo Bubble Mag E-Badge, a secondary display accessory featuring a 1.7in Amoled screen that magnetically attaches to the back of the phone, allowing users to preview shots from the rear camera in real time.

This lets users frame and capture selfies using the higher-quality rear camera while viewing themselves on the Oppo Bubble. Weighing just 36g, the accessory also doubles as a remote shutter with a control range of up to 10m and is powered by a 550mAh battery.

Preorders for the Reno16 series are now live, with the Reno16 Pro priced at RM3,699 for the 12GB + 256GB variant in either Pop White or Starlight Black.

The Reno16 is priced at RM2,699 for the 8GB + 256GB and RM2,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variants, while the Reno16 F is priced at RM1,999 for the 8GB + 128GB and RM2,299 for the 8GB + 256GB variants.

Both the Reno16 and Reno16 F are available in Pop White, Twilight Violet and Dream Purple.

Additionally, the Oppo Bubble in Silver is available to preorder at RM349.
