PUTRAJAYA: Oppo has launched its new Reno15 Series of smartphones in Malaysia today, with the base model Reno15 and Reno15 Pro now available for pre-order until Jan 16.

The base Reno15 sports a 6.59in display. All models in the lineup feature a Full HD+ Amoled screen along with a 120Hz refresh rate.

On the back is a triple camera setup, with a 50-megapixel wide-angle main shooter, 50-megapixel telephoto sensor, and 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle camera. Both the main wide-angle and telephoto cameras also feature optical image stabilisation (OIS). There is also a 50-megapixel selfie camera on the front-side of the device.

Further augmenting the Reno15 Series' imaging capabilities is an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered boost.

This includes features such as AI Flash Photography 2.0, which combines AI processing with flash to improve facial clarity, and AI Portrait Glow, which analyses each scene and automatically applies the most suitable lighting effect for portrait shots.

Live photos, or motion photos as Oppo calls it, also receive an AI boost, with a slow-motion effect. Users can additionally use the Popout feature to combine motion photos with static images to create a single composition tailored for sharing on social media.

The AI Eraser function in Oppo’s AI Studio now also works on motion photos, allowing users to remove passers-by or other unwanted objects from their shots.

Taking a peek under the hood shows the base model Reno15 equipped with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, with 12GB RAM and either 256GB (RM1,999) or 512GB (RM2,399) internal storage.

Powering the device is a 6,500mAh battery, which Oppo says can be charged from 1% to 100% in just 50 minutes using its 80W Supervooc fast charging. The company also claims the battery can deliver over 11 hours of MOBA gaming and nearly six hours of video streaming on a single charge.

Colour options for the base Reno15 include Aurora Blue, Twilight Blue, and Aurora White.

Meanwhile, the Pro model features a 6.32in screen display, making it the smaller of the two models launched in Malaysia.

It also features a slightly different triple camera system comprised of a 200-megapixel main wide-angle shooter, 50-megapixel ultra-wide and 50-megapixel 3.5x telephoto lens with up to 120x zoom.

Like the base model Reno15, both the wide-angle and telephoto sensors have optical image stabilisation (OIS). There's also a 50-megapixel selfie camera on the front.

Further differences between the devices include the processors and storage configurations, with the Reno15 Pro powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8450, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

It also has a smaller 6,200mAh battery, which similarly charges at up to 80W Supervooc, charging from 1% to 100% in just 53 minutes. The Pro comes in Dusk Brown and Aurora Blue colours, and is priced at RM2,999.

Further debuting today is the Reno15 F, with a 6.57in screen and triple camera setup made up of a 50-megapixel wide-angle shooter, 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and 2-megapixel macro camera. There's also a 50-megapixel selfie shooter.

The Reno15 F is equipped with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, along with a 7,000mAh battery. Similar to the other devices in the family, the F has 80W Supervooc charging.

It comes in two storage variants, with 8GB RAM paired with 256GB (RM1,499) of internal storage, or 12GB RAM paired with 256GB (RM1,599) internal storage. The phone comes in three colours – Afterglow Pink, Twilight Blue, and Aurora Blue.

All models in the Reno15 Series have an IP68 and IP69 water- and dust-resistance rating, alongside a suite of artificial intelligence-powered features, including what Oppo calls the "AI Mind Space", which can be used to compile and organise ideas and content for easy access.

Users can then ask the built-in AI companion to provide specific answers based on the compiled information for more tailored responses. Other AI features include a real-time travel translator and AI Call Translator.

Launched alongside the Reno15 Series is the Oppo Pad 5 tablet, featuring a 12.1in 2.8K resolution screen with a 144Hz refresh rate and powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ processor.

The tablet has a 10,050mAh battery, and is priced at RM1,699 for the WiFi edition and RM2,199 for the 5G-capable variant.

Also unveiled today was the Watch S, which Oppo says offers up to 10 days of battery life off a single charge, device pairing across mobile operating systems, and IP68 water and dust resistance.

The Watch S comes in Silver Gleam (RM899) and Phantom Black (RM799) colourways.

Pre-orders for the Reno15 Series are open from today (Jan 6) until Jan 16, with customers entitled to a purchase-with-purchase offer that lets them purchase the Oppo Watch S for just RM99.

Those who pre-order will also receive an extra year of extended warranty valued up to RM149, which can be redeemed via the My Oppo app.
