(Reuters) - OpenAI recently closed a $6.6 billion funding round at a $157 billion valuation that highlighted the enthusiasm around generative artificial-intelligence technology since the startup burst onto the scene with the launch of ChatGPT in late 2022.

Since then a number of AI startups have managed to attract funding from well-known venture-capital funds and angel investors.
