GoPro has unveiled its latest action camera models – Hero13 Black and Hero.
The company said the Hero13 Black comes with several new features, including 13x burst slow-motion – claimed to be capable of capturing up to 400 frames per second at HD-quality 720p video, as well as 5.3K at 120 frames per second and 900p at 360 frames per second video – and a larger capacity 1900mAh Enduro battery that is said to be more power efficient.
It is also introducing the new Hero Black (HB) Series Lenses with four mods – ultra wide lens offering 177° field of view, macro lens (which let users adjust the focus ring to a distance from as close as 11cm), anamorphic lens with cinematic lens flare and ND-filter 4-pack to create cinematic blur in shots.
The company explained that each lens is compatible with GoPro-patented HyperSmooth stabilisation and can be "automatically detected" by the camera to provide optimal settings.
Each lens mod is sold separately from the Hero13 Black.
Other Hero13 Black features include rear 2.27in touch display with front 1.4in colour display, and the device is also equipped with faster WiFi 6 technology for up to 40% quicker content transfer speeds.
The company is also touting its new Hero model as the smallest and lightest 4K camera weighing at 86g.
The Hero with 1.76in rear LCD touchscreen is capable of capturing videos in Ultra 4k and HD 1080p as well as 12-megapixel photos and slow-motion content with 2.7K at 60 frames per second.
Other features include built-in 1,255mAh Enduro battery which the company said is capable of recording continuously at up to 100 minutes at the highest video setting on a single charge, and is waterproof up to 16ft (5m).
The company has announced that global availability for the Hero13 Black will begin on Sept 10 while the Hero model will be available on Sept 22.
Based on a listing on a local ecommerce site, the GoPro Hero is priced at RM1,149 while the Hero13 Black is priced at RM2,449.
