Recipients of the RM100 eMadani credit should take note that this credit will be expiring at 11.59pm this Thursday (Feb 29), after which any remaining credit will be removed from their ewallet.

The FAQ page on the initiative from the Ministry of Finance states that “the credit must be utilised by 11.59pm on 29 February 2024, after which time, any unused eMadani credit will be automatically removed from the applicant’s ewallet”.

The eMadani initiative was originally launched on Dec 4 last year with the goal of encouraging cashless transactions annd to ease the financial burden faced by Malaysians. Applications for the credit closed last Tuesday (Feb 20).

Eligible users were able to claim eMadani in the following ewallet apps: Mae by Maybank2u, Setel, ShopeePay and Touch ‘n Go eWallet.

The credit is only valid for physical payments and cannot be cashed out, also making it ineligible for transfers to a different account, parking and/or toll payments, as well as in-app purchases and online transactions.
