TNG eWallet supports JPA pension payment channel

TNG Digital said the initiative aimed to help pensioners whose bank accounts have been frozen or restricted, including those affected by financial scams, to continue receiving their pension payments without disruption.

KUALA LUMPUR: TNG Digital Sdn Bhd is supporting the Public Service Department’s (JPA) financial inclusion initiative by providing eligible pensioners with an alternative channel to receive their monthly pension payments through TNG eWallet.

In a statement, TNG Digital said the initiative aimed to help pensioners whose bank accounts have been frozen or restricted, including those affected by financial scams, continue receiving their pension payments without disruption.

TNG Digital said more than 3.4 million verified TNG eWallet users are aged 60 and above, reflecting the growing adoption of digital financial services among senior Malaysians.

Eligible pensioners under the initiative can also apply for a fee-waived TNG eWallet Visa Card, which is linked to their eWallet balance and allows them to make payments, withdraw cash at ATMs and transact at Visa merchants worldwide.

Chief executive officer Alan Ni said the company is supporting JPA’s efforts to ensure eligible pensioners continue receiving their pension payments when they are unable to access existing banking channels.

“Financial inclusion is about ensuring no eligible pensioner is left without access to the pension payments they depend on.

“We are honoured to support this initiative by providing eligible pensioners with a secure and accessible alternative payment option through TNG eWallet,” he said.

TNG eWallet includes security features such as electronic know-your-customer verification, biometric authentication, device binding, a Kill Switch feature and a dedicated fraud support hotline.

TNG Digital said it will continue working with government agencies and strategic partners to improve access to financial services and strengthen financial inclusion.
