TM has fastest broadband download speed in Malaysia as of Q4 2023, country ranked 38 globally, says Ookla

The latest Speedtest Global Index from Internet access and performance analytics platform Ookla reports that TM was the fastest Malaysian broadband service provider in Q4 2023, achieving a median speed of 112Mbps.

Ookla's data, gathered from user speedtests performed on the platform during the quarter, show Time close behind in second place with a 110.63Mbps median, and Maxis in third place with 95.97Mbps.

All three of the telcos included in the report saw an increase in speeds since the prior quarter, with TM seeing the biggest jump from 93.87Mbps. Time and Maxis saw a smaller rise from 110.23Mbps and 93.38Mbps respectively.

The country's overall median download speed was 111.70Mbps, placing it in 38th place globally in regards to median download speeds, ranking behind only Singapore (270.62KMbps) and Thailand (221.32Mbps) within South-East Asia.

Ookla previously reported in 2023 that Malaysia had the third fastest 5G network in the world.
