On social platforms, the search tool has become a real asset. Reddit, too, has decided to pay particular attention to this feature, notably by adding a new media tab to its search results page to help users find the results they're looking for more easily.

Like many of its competitors, Reddit has revamped its search tool to add several new features. For example, users will now be able to search for media content more easily on the platform since a special tab has been created for media results including GIFs, videos and photos. The interface has also been simplified to offer a more "intuitive" experience, Reddit explains in a news release.

In addition to being able to search for media across the entire platform, users will be able to search for media posted within a specific subreddit: "Redditors looking for specific media content within a subreddit can now click on the search bar on a community page, type in their search, and view media associated with that subreddit under the new tab," the news release explains.

"These updates allow us to have a consistent search experience across all of our surfaces, and our learnings from testing show it makes search 85% faster on mobile web," the platform states.

From TikTok to X (formerly Twitter) to Instagram, many social networks have improved their search tools. And this feature has proved a major asset in winning over Generation Z users. In fact, according to certain studies, young users now turn more to social network search engines like TikTok than to Google. – AFP Relaxnews
