Local studio makes cops-and-robbers into mobile game

Get ready for some childhood nostalgia with a local game studio's remake of cops and robbers, now turned into a frantic multiplayer mobile game. — Studio Kamii

Remember playing cops-and-robbers as a kid? Local developers are updating it, bringing the experience to a multiplayer game.

Indie game developers Studio Kamii’s Police Sentri is based on the childhood game where players are divided into teams of cops and robbers, where the cop team tries to catch the players on the robber team.

On its Google Play page, they explain that the cop team wins if they catch all the robbers, while the robbers need to evade the police until the timer runs out.

Robbers will also need to work together to protect a bag of money that one team member needs to hold on to while running.

There are also various comical items like potholes, banana peels, disguises, lock-picks, cabbages and even a goose which users can spring on each other.

Giving a bit more depth than real-life cops and robbers, the developers also added a rank system. “Robbers can rank up by rescuing their comrade from prison. Police can rank up by catching a ‘ranked up’ robber. Higher ranks will give speed increase,” they explained.

The multiplayer game hosts up to eight players a session.

The game is free to download for Android users, but is still in early access. This means there may be bugs in the game, though the developers encourage players to report any issues.
