KUALA LUMPUR: Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd (Rapid Bus), the operator of Rapid KL, Go KL and SMART Selangor bus service operations, has announced the availability of real-time bus location information through the Moovit application.

Rapid Bus chief executive officer Muhammad Yazurin Sallij said with the application, passengers can check the real time location of bus routes in the Klang Valley including for Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) buses, Light Rail Transit (LRT) feeder bus, Go KL and several selected Smart Selangor bus service routes.

“In addition, it also features other travel options such as a combination of bus and rail services, providing bus stop information and estimated travel time,” he said in a statement.

He said with the convenience of travel information through the smartphone application, passengers can also wait for the arrival of their bus while relaxing or doing other activities.

“Collaboration with Moovit is part of the Rapid Bus initiative to collaborate with selected third-party application developers. The facility will benefit thousands of public bus service users in the Klang Valley,” he said.

He said that the bus service operator had launched real-time data sharing with Google Maps on June 18.

Muhammad Yazurin said it also planned to expand the coverage of location data to MRT feeder bus services, Rapid Penang in Penang and Rapid Kuantan in Pahang in the future.
