Unifi offers 500Mbps and 800Mbps plans, starts from RM249

Unifi is now offering two new home fibre broadband packages with speeds of 800Mbps and 500Mbps. — Unifi

Telekom Malaysia's Unifi service has introduced two new home fibre broadband packages, which feature faster download speeds than its previous offerings.

Like the name suggests, the two new plans – Unifi Home 800Mbps and Unifi Home 500Mbps – respectively provide 800Mbps and 500Mbps download speeds and 200Mbps upload speeds.

“The upload speed for the Unifi plans is sufficient to provide good experience to almost all customers. From the usage statistics of our existing unifi customers, 90% of total users only utilised less than 5Mbps upload speed,” said Unifi in its FAQ, in reference to the difference in upload and download speeds.

Newly introduced, the 800Mbps and 500Mbps plans are currently being offered at a discounted price of RM349 a month (down from RM409) and RM249 a month (down from RM309), respectively.

Both plans come with unlimited data quotas and up to 600 minutes of talk time to all mobile and fixed lines. Beyond the 600 minute quota, calls from fixed lines to mobiles cost 10sen a minute.

The telco is also running a Unifi Your World campaign, which bundles a mesh Wi-Fi system, access to the Unifi Mobile plan with a two-year contract and a Unifi Plus Box – an Android TV Box which gives customers access to content from Unifi TV and its partners – together with the new plans.

Pricing for the bundle is RM378 per month for the 800Mbps package and RM278 per month for the 500Mbps package.

Previously, Unifi only offered new customers plans with up to 300Mbps speeds, though some existing customers did get upgraded to the 500Mbps and 800Mbps speeds under its Unifi Turbo upgrade programme.
