US congresswoman AOC is a gamer, and she knows how to pwn trolls

US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shared on Twitter that she has made it to Silver III ranking on multiplayer online battle arena video game League Of Legends (LOL).

The politician and Representative for New York's 14th congressional district described it as a "small quarantine accomplishment".

Silver III is a third-tier rank where Ocasio-Cortez ranks above Bronze and Iron (beginner level players) in LOL.

One Twitter user asked the Democrat if playing LOL has prepared her for "haters on Twitter" as she has already interacted with some vicious trolls on the game, to which Ocasio-Cortez replied "Definitely".

Ocasio-Cortez is often targeted by the right-wing, or Americans with conservative views, on Twitter for her outspoken posts against US president Donald Trump.

"Right-wing Twitter is child's play compared to inting 13-year-olds," she said.

According to Huffington Post, "inting" is a colloquial term for "intentionally feeding", where a player purposely kills off their in-game character just to put their team at a disadvantage.

Ocasio-Cortez also shared that one of her preferred player roles in the game is to "support people" and often plays as Sona, a mage with the ability to help injured allies recover health.

The politician had previously talked about her gaming habits in November last year, when she shared an Instagram story on reaching Silver IV rank in LOL, and in May when she posted that she was, like many others in pandemic lockdown, also enjoying the Nintendo game Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
